Melaka famous with amazing eating places especially for grilled fish. People willing to drive down south to Melaka just to have dinner. Out of famous grilled fish places, this is one of my favorite place, Medan Ikan Bakar Muara Sg Duyong.
You have to passed by Ujong Pasir and Padang Temu to get to this place. Just take the straight road after the Portugese Settlement until you saw a river, Sg Duyong. Turn to the right after the bridge and just straight ahead until the end of the road. You will found this yellow color restaurant.
The seafood is superbly fresh and they offer variety of seafood like pari, jenahak, siakap, kerapu, kembong, cencaru, prawn, squid, crab, few type of clams, cockles and many more. I like the way they cooked the dishes. You can even asked for two type of grilled for one fish. Beside seafood, they also have chicken wrapped with pandan leaves, otak otak, tauhu bakar and vegetable. For dessert, chill coconut jelly and fruits are more than enough to complete your dinner.
The last time I went there, I ordered half chilli grilled and half 3 flavored deep fry for Jenahak, grilled pari, squid fritters, butter garlic prawn, pandan chicken and nasi lemak. Also, we ordered two jugs of fresh orange, 15 pcs of otak otak, mushroom in oyster sauce and chill coconut jelly.
This restaurant do accept reservation for family dinner or gathering. With spacious place, fresh seafood and delicious dishes, it come with a cheap price. For 2 type of fishes, 1/2 kg of squid, 1/2 kg of prawn, 2 pcs of pandan chicken, 15 pcs of otak otak, a plate of mushroom in oyster sauce, 8 packs of nasi lemak, 2 jugs of orange juice and 2 cups of coconut jelly, I paid only RM120.00. Its more cheaper than Umbai. Thats why I opted this place whenever I feel like to eat seafood.
